Labradorite - Uplifting

Labradorite is a form of Feldspar and different shades can be called different names such as Spectrolite and Larvikite.

The most notable feature of Labradorite is its iridescence.  A rough chunk can look like a boring greyish lump until you turn it to and fro in the light.  Then you will see flashes of blue, green or gold lighting it up.  Polished pieces reveal wonderful colours in patches like butterflies' wings.

One of the qualities of Labradorite is that it opens you up to seeing the inner beauty of things - and people, including yourself.  That which can seem mundane or boring, even to the point of dislike, can reveal something precious when looked at from a slightly different perspective.

Labradorite is excellent when you are depressed, when you can't understand the negative patterns in your life, when you feel a victim, when things never seem to end.  It is also wonderful for when you are working with strong crystals, such as Phenacite or Moldavite, which bring in new energies you find difficult to assimilate.  It works very well with other crystals to help smoothe and uplift, for example when Aquamarine is used on the throat chakra, put a piece of Labradorite on the third eye or the heart.

The iridescence makes Labradorite a perfect crystal for jewellery or carvings.  As a pendant it can be extremely comforting to wear, soothing to the spirit.  Put a bit under your pillow to enhance your dreams.  If you are starting to channel, Labradorite can help you accept the new energies and let go of your little self smoothly, moving forward with your Higher Self.  It also helps you differentiate what is coming from your present level of consciousness and what is new.

As an elixir, Labradorite can stimulate endorphin release which helps relieve pain and increase the feeling of well-being.  It brings balance, positivity and helps dispel patterns that keep you in negativity.  It is a great tool for harmony in the body/mind/emotions and a help to ascension.

Children and animals also love Labradorite, truly one of Mother Nature's most beautiful gifts and teachers.
