HOW TO ENSURE A GOOD READING
Before having a reading of any kind it is important to clarify what you want to know. A good client makes a good reading, so we would like to offer a few tips so you get the best reading for your needs.
First, formulate your question/s. This may sound obvious but some people come to readings when they have general anxiety about the future or they feel something is amiss in their lives but they have not yet tried to pin down the source of their unease. It is perfectly OK to have a feeling like this, in which case you need to have this in mind during your reading. However, in many cases there is something at the centre of the unease and you need to focus on this. If what you really want to know is whether your job application will be successful then a reading focusing on your spiritual progress will not be appropriate at this time. Not all readings are predictive.
Having selected your reader from available information, ask them if this is the sort of thing they deal with. Not every reader can deal with every type of question and some subjects may be better dealt with during a different type of reading. For example an aura analysis will not give you a prediction about the future.
Readers use a variety of methods, each is equally valid. Tools such as Tarot cards, a crystal ball or other items simply act as a focus for the reader to reach their state of Knowing. Many use a combination of methods and the Knowing can come in many ways, for example some may see pictures (clairvoyance), some may hear voices (clairaudience), some may have feelings (clairsentience). Some may deny any of this and say they simply read the cards (or whatever they use ) analytically. It is impossible to describe one's own state of Knowing but everyone has it to some degree - for example when you know the phone is about to ring, or who is calling you, just before you pick it up.
Most readers get into a flow once they have started the reading and may not like to be interrupted until they ask for questions. Some may not like you to give too much information at the start of the reading. Before the reading starts, ask if you should keep questions until the end and ask if they need any information now.
During the reading it is helpful for the reader to have some kind of feedback, so please be your natural self and relax. If you deliberately become stiff, avoiding all response possible, it puts up a barrier which can disconcert the reader. Remember the goal is for you to receive the information you need, not for the reader to prove how wonderful he/she is despite all obstacles! Help your reader to help you.
If, 10 minutes into the reading, you feel that the reader is not "connecting" with you and what is being said is not relevant, do not feel shy about stopping the reading at this point and saying so. It may be that some change is needed, such as a reshuffle of the cards, or it may be that you need a different reading altogether. It is better to stop early than carry on for the full session feeling it is not going well and that you are wasting your money.
All readers will ask you if you have questions about the reading. If you have anything at all to say, please do so, even if it seems a little silly. Sometimes something said in a different way will make perfect sense to you and not everyone understands all the terms that may be used. If you need advice on how to deal with a point that has been raised, please ask. A reader likes to feel that the reading has helped you. However, do be sensible about this and keep it to the most important points, do not drain the reader with a whole list of questions, especially if the answers have already been given.
Never be afraid of a reading. A good reader is there to help, not to frighten. If you have any doubts, express them at the start, telling the reader you are a bit nervous and hope nothing nasty turns up. They will reassure you and tell you what you need to know in a way that you can deal with.
In the unlikely event that you feel you have a valid complaint against the reader, it is better addressed as soon as possible. If the reader is working from a shop or centre then ask for the manager immediately after the reading. If you have seen the reader at home, if they are a member of a society you can always contact their main official.
Finally, remember that the future is not always fixed in stone. There are many possible futures and it is up to you to create the one you want. You have free will and a powerful creative force, use the reading to help you make the best choices. A simple example is that if a reader says "Beware of a hole in the road on Tuesday", you can choose to stay at home on Tuesday, you can go out and keep a sharp lookout for holes, or you can be fatalistic (or disbelieving, or simply ignore the advice) and fall down a hole in the road!
